In 52% of companies, poor communication between managers and IT teams causes cyber incidents or cybersecurity breaches.
Companies spend an average of 37 days and around $2 million to detect and recover from a cybersecurity breach or cyber incident.

Kaspersky released the data when sharing the results of a survey it conducted with more than 1,300 business leaders from around the world.

The survey revealed that more

than half of senior executives in Mexico (52%) admit that poor communication with their IT and cybersecurity teams has caused at least one cyber incident in their organizations.

For a third of executives (31%), this creates the feeling that cooperation between teams is decreasing.

99% of respondents in Mexico who are not related to the IT sector recognized a lack of communication regarding information security issues. The main consequences are:

Project delays (66%);
Cybersecurity incidents (62%);
One in three respondents even claims to have encountered these problems more than once (27% with delays and 21% with cyber incidents).
Other negative effects include budget waste (54%);
Loss of talent (54%);
Deterioration of relations between teams (61%), situations that occurred in (57%) of the respondents.
